Kiwi Safaris - Small GameFeral Goats

Feral goats are widespread throughout New Zealand, and come in every conceivable size, shape and color.

While feral goats are widespread throughout New Zealand, trophy billys are hard to find and are an exciting addition to a Kiwi Safaris hunt.

Arapawa Ram

Arapawa sheep have a fascinating history and make equally interesting trophies.  Descendants of fine wool merino sheep, they were originally abandoned on Arapawa Island in the 1800’s as a source of food for returning sealers and whalers.  The hardy Arapawa sheep has developed as a distinctive breed of its own, the rams carrying large spiraling horns making an eye catching trophy.

Wild Boar

Captain Cook was the first European to liberate wild pigs in New Zealand in 1773 and they are now found all over the country.

It is common to hunt boars with trained dogs, which is exciting and often dangerous, especially with unpredictable boars. We also use the ‘spot and stalk’ method and we have excellent properties which have numerous boars.
