We offer New Zealand’s best free range sika hunting at Poronui in the North Island. Sika were first released in New Zealand at Poronui and have flourished, with the wild herd consistently producing world class trophy heads each season.
This strikingly handsome dark brown deer provides a large heavy six point trophy. They are essentially nocturnal and a difficult trophy to obtain.
Rusa Trophy Gallery These elusive deer hold hard antler for nearly six months, and the distinctive trophy with long even points is eye-catching. The herd at Poronui is of exceptional quality and can be hunted right up to Christmas.
Small Game Trophy Gallery Hunting for a variety of small game is part of the excitement of hunting with Kiwi Safaris. We hunt for feral goats, Arapawa rams, hares, rabbits and 'possums as well as turkey, quail and pheasant. These hunts can be a great interlude on your big game safari and are a lot of fun for younger hunters.
We attract more and more bow hunters every year and this is reflected in the SCI Bow Hunting Record Book where in the Tahr section alone, our clients have held nine of the first 10 placings at one time.
